The NCFE Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care has just been confirmed for public funding by the SFA. The programme supports the Government’s End of Life Care Strategy and is designed for a range of learning models, including distance learning. It can be completed in as little as 16 weeks, and will help those caring for terminally ill people to provide comprehensive and appropriate support to people in their care.
The course is ideal for health or social care staff, as well as some home carers, who are involved in the care of terminally ill people. It has been specifically designed to encourage learners to use a ‘person-centred’ approach, which will enable them to meet the physical, emotional, social, cultural and spiritual needs of people nearing the end of life and their families, in line with the End of Life Care Strategy.
