Individuals who can analyse and solve problems, communicate well, use information technology and work with others effectively are well-equipped to assume the active, flexible and responsible role which modern workplaces need and society expects.
Employers place a particularly high value on these skills, which is why Tribal has developed a new suite of courses to help learners put their own knowledge and understanding into action and adapt their existing knowledge and skills to the demands of new situations. Tribal’s materials have been mapped to the SCQF and work for both core skills and functional skills.
This programme will be ideal for learners either on an Intermediate Level 1 or Intermediate Level 2 hairdressing or beauty course. It will help learners to make the transition from their college course to the workplace.
The programme comprises three contextualised workbooks:
Each will allow learners to practise many of the necessary skills they’ll need to perform their duties in a hair or beauty environment. It will help them gain confidence in their duties and provide assurance to employers that their staff are developing valuable core skills.
Contextualised communication, numeracy and ICT activities will support learners in demonstrating the skills and tasks required to achieve their unit. Each accompanying tutor guide provides guidance to tutors as to the types of task that might be suitable for the assessment.
For the learner, materials include an individual student workbook.
For the tutor, there is a tutor guide including: workplace core skills mapping , exercise answers and assessment guidance.
On completion of this course, learners may wish to move on to further qualifications concerned with hair and beauty. Alternatively, they could consider further training in subjects such as personal development, employment skills or personal money management.
