CMI Team Leading

Course outline

Ideal for learners who are working in a team leading role, or who wish to move into such a role, Tribal’s Level 2 Team Leading programme will help learners achieve a qualification awarded by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Within the Level 2 Team Leading programme there are three different qualifications available:

• CMI Level 2 Award in Team Leading
  Candidates need to complete any combination of units to a minimum of 5 credits to achieve the qualification.
• CMI Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading
  Candidates need to complete any combination of units to a minimum of 15 credits to achieve the qualification
• CMI Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading
  Candidates need to complete all units from Group A, and at least one unit from Group B to a total of at least 38 credits to achieve the qualification.

Course content

The number of credits achieved, depends on the units studied and passed. Tribal’s learning materials offer the following units:

Group A

• Unit 2001: Personal development as a team leader (Credit value: 6)
• Unit 2002: Team communications (Credit value: 5)
• Unit 2004: Controlling resources (Credit value: 6)
• Unit 2005: Building work relationships (Credit value: 5)
• Unit 2006: Team development (Credit value: 6)
• Unit 2007: Providing customer service (Credit value: 5)

Group B

• Unit 2003: Team performance (Credit value: 5)
• Unit 2008: Being a team leader (Credit value: 5)

Apart from the Diploma option where certain units are mandatory, it is possible to have a free choice over the units chosen for the qualification. Learners are encouraged to discuss their choice of qualification and unit(s) with their tutor.M

Progression opportunities

This course will be useful to anyone working in a team leading role or who wants to develop a career in this area. Having successfully achieved this qualification, the learner may wish to progress on to further qualifications, including NVQs.
