Raising skills for work: Introduction to Fire Marshalling

Employer engagement is a key government priority for colleges and training providers. Tribal has developed the Raising Skills series to meet this agenda providing standardised, high-quality learning and support materials for full-cost delivery. The courses are comprehensive, yet concise, and focus on key issues for employers. This series of courses is suitable for a range of delivery models, including face-to-face, distance or blended learning.

Who is it for?

• Employees who have been, or are about to be, appointed as fire marshals and have no formal training.
• Employees who have responsibility for fire marshals.
• Any person who needs to develop underpinning skills and knowledge required for the safe evacuation of others in the event of a fire.

Course Outline

This programme outlines the role and responsibilities of appointed fire marshals in the context of current fire legislation. On completion of the programme, delegates will be able to understand the principles of current fire legislation; demonstrate awareness of the common causes of fire and methods of prevention; understand the role and responsibilities of the fire marshal; and be aware of the appropriate use of fire-fighting equipment.
