Personal safety is something that we should all be aware of, whether in the home or the workplace, travelling, or simply carrying out our normal everyday activities. This course aims to enable the learner to adopt a preventative approach to hazardous situations, by assessing risks and learning to minimise them.
This Level 1 Certificate in Personal Safety Awareness is appropriate for all individuals as it contains information and guidance that can be applied to many everyday circumstances. By being aware of situations and actions that put your personal safety at risk, danger can be avoided. Preventing unpleasant events from happening in the first place is always better than having to deal with the consequences of such an event.
The programme has four stages, all of which must be completed successfully to achieve the qualification.
Candidates will be provided with course materials for the programme. The learning materials contain the knowledge needed to meet the assessment requirements of the course and activities to allow candidates to practise their skills and test their learning.
After completing the personal risk assessment questionnaire, candidates work through the learning materials, activities and complete short written assessments. Candidates will have access to a tutor who will support them throughout the programme. The final task is an hour long multiple-choice assessment that is set and marked by ASET.
Learners wishing to further their knowledge in this area and related fields may wish to consider qualifications in health and safety or conflict management.
