Mental distress takes many forms. This qualification aims to broaden learners’ knowledge of mental ill-health and the most commonly diagnosed mental health conditions. Learners will develop an awareness of the signs and symptoms of these conditions and how they may affect people’s day-to-day lives. They will also gain an insight into how these conditions can be successfully managed.

You will receive a pack containing four workbooks which are designed to be studied in your own time. You do not need to attend college, instead dedicated tutor support is provided throughout the duration of the course, by phone or email.
There are no exams or end tests, instead there are assessments which are available as printed booklets or can be completed online. As you complete each assessment you should send it to your course tutor to be marked. For the printed assessment booklets freepost envelopes will be provided.
The programme can be completed in as little as 16–24 weeks. You are expected to spend at least two hours studying each week.
