Green College Declaration

Tuesday 20th May 2008

The ‘Green College Declaration’ recently launched by the Association of Colleges (AoC), commits colleges to make sustainable development the guiding principle in their policies, practices and planning. This has far-reaching consequences committing colleges to champion sustainable development among staff, students, employers, councils and their local communities. Key to this is the need to raise awareness on sustainability issues, enabling all stakeholders to make informed contributions to protecting the environment and making sustainability a reality.

In response to this need, NCFE and Tribal Learning and Publishing have collaborated in the development the Level 1 and Level 2 Certificates in Sustainable Development. Both qualifications are on the National Qualifications Framework and are LSC fundable. They are suitable for delivery to adult learners, as additionally, or as enrichment for full-time learners, and both courses carry GCSE points making them suitable for school links learners. The qualifications could also provide useful contributions to continuing professional development for college staff.

High quality, flexible learning materials are available to support delivery of the programmes, and we can assist with guidance on all aspects of delivery. For further information, please contact us.
