The courses aim to introduce learners to some of the concepts around citizenship, and explore how people can act responsibly to influence things that concern them and make a positive contribution to society. These courses encourage the participant to explore their own rights and responsibilities and to become active citizens.
Candidates will be provided with the course materials for the programme and will be required to work through a series of tasks and activities designed to reinforce the learning process and test the their knowledge. The course is assessed through paper-based assessments and is suitable for school, college or workplace delivery.
This qualification will be ideal for young people who will become the next generation of adult citizens in the UK. It will also be of value to older learners and those working in, or hoping to work in, a range of areas such as youth work, community development, local government, education, the police and social services. Having successfully achieved this qualification, further study options could include equality and diversity training or personal development courses.
