This qualification aims to raise awareness in response to the DfES and LSC agendas on sustainable development. Candidates will develop their environmental awareness and improve sustainable development skills in the workplace, whilst examining the background to sustainable development. The practical nature of the assessment makes it suitable for school, college and workplace delivery.
The course consists of two units:
Candidates will be provided with the course materials for the programme and will be required to work through a series of tasks and activities designed to reinforce the learning process and test their knowledge. Candidates are assessed internally through a portfolio of evidence.
The course will be useful to anyone in employment or in full-time education and of particular value to those wishing to develop a career in planning or the environment. Having successfully achieved this qualification, the learner may wish to progress on to the next level of study and complete the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Sustainable Development. Other courses of interest include the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and the Level 2 Certificate in Logistics.
